Its coagulation and decolorization effects are superior to sodium hydroxide solutions, and its cost is low.

Physicochemical Properties

Soft white powder, strongly alkaline. Highly hygroscopic, density 2.24, bulk density 0.6-0.4, soluble in acid, slightly soluble in water, insoluble in alcohol.
